The position will report direct to the General Counsel Power MENASA. Role Summary/Purpose The Senior Counsel for Power business in Tunisia will have responsibility for providing legal advice on all legal aspects of the company's Business operations and initiatives in the Region (Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania & Lebanon) as well as structuring and negotiating a variety of strategic commercial contracts with GE's key customers throughout the Region. Qualifications/Requirements 1. JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership, preferably with a dual qualification including either US or UK law. 2. A minimum of 10 years of experience at a large, preferably international, law firm or multinational company?s corporate legal department working on a variety of commercial / business legal matters in the region, including previous experience of drafting, negotiating and closing complex business transactions (i.e. purchase, sale and distribution agreements). Experience in Project financing is a plus. 3. Previous experience in identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make on the spot risk calls. 4. Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment. 5. Ability to communicate using English and preferably another local language as well. Desired Characteristics 1. Experience of the Power industry 2. Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment 3. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork skills 4.
